Photo Heavy Greenwich

Greenwich is one of those places I never knew existed until I started working in Kent in October last year. There are endless parks and trails, markets and plenty of things to do in this area. After watching the TV series The Tudors this year I've been a lot more interested in the royal history of the United Kingdom. Other series such as Reign (which I find more of a modernized girly soap opera about Queen Mary of Scots, entertaining none of the less when you run out of things to watch) and Vikings has also sparked my interest about how everything connects especially as I have spent so much time in Scandinavia.

You can get a magnificent view of the grounds of the Royal Navy College from the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park, it was just a shame that it was so overcast when I took these photos.

Although the main palace in the TV series The Tudors was based on the palace grounds in Greenwich the series was filmed in Ireland. After watching the complete series and having a walk around you can imagine what this site may have looked like back in the days of King Henry VIII.

I wished I lived a little bit closer to Greenwich as it would be ideal to be able to take a morning run around the parks here. It also makes me think how lucky students are at the University of Greenwich to have such beautiful buildings and grounds to utilize.
